Why this site exists
For many people Brazil is just coffee and carnival – yet behind almost every product lies a decision that is hard to make when buying online. If you search for Brazilian coffee, you get hundreds of hits without learning whether it is arabica or conilon. With a cuia it is rarely mentioned that it first has to be cured.
This is exactly the gap brasil-shop.net aims to close. Not yet another product list, but the criteria you need to decide for yourself.
My connection to Brazil
What interests me about Brazil is the diversity of its regions and the craft quality of many products – from coffee from Minas Gerais to the instruments of capoeira. Along the way I have learned how big the differences can be between seemingly identical goods.
My focus is on coffee/drinks and Amazonian natural cosmetics. Those are the areas I can say the most about. I treat other categories more cautiously.
How I work
Every recommendation comes with a reason. If a product is not suitable for a particular purpose, that is stated as well.
I do not test every single linked product in a lab. What I pass on are the buying criteria for each product group, compiled from manufacturer information, specialist sources and common knowledge. Recipes are editorially researched. In the end, the choice is yours.
How I earn money
This site is funded through the Amazon Associates Program. If you buy something via a link here, I receive a small commission from the seller. The price stays the same for you. I do not sell anything myself or process any orders – the purchase takes place entirely on Amazon.
What I stick to
Criteria instead of superlatives
Every recommendation names the features that matter – not merely that something is “the best”.
The case against, too
Where a product is not the right fit, we say so. A recommendation without any caveat is rarely honest.
Transparent about prices
We deliberately state no prices because Amazon prices change constantly. The price on Amazon is always the one that counts.
Ads are labelled
All product links are affiliate links and marked as such – on every page, not just in the small print.
